WHITMAN, Mass. (WBZ NewsRadio) — A fire in the switching gears at a railroad crossing in Whitman caused a delay on the Commuter Rail Friday morning.

The Kingston Train 036 remained stopped outside of Whitman as crews worked to extinguish the fire.

Firefighters have since given the All Clear, but the Kingston Line may still experience residual delays as a result of train traffic.

Meanwhile other Commuter Rail lines have experienced delays, as the Middleborough/Lakeboro Train 003, Middleborough Train 010, and Worcester Train 508 are all currently behind schedule.
