Massachusetts' Cannabis Control Commission Discusses Home Delivery

BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Massachusetts' Cannabis Control Commission held a “virtual public hearing” Monday and heard suggestions concerning the home delivery of marijuana.

Vernon Jackson applied to get a license to deliver cannabis, but he told commissioners for the business to be profitable people with a delivery license have to be able to buy wholesale and be allowed to store product.

"This is the only way we can assure the delivery licensees and equity applicants can become more than glorified couriers for the well-resourced retailers," Jackson said.

Delivery licenses are reserved for social equity and economic empowerment applicants, and Jackson told the commission that, without the ability to buy wholesale and to store the product, a delivery license “smells like paternalism.”
