BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Saturday marked the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing. The John F. Kennedy Presidential Library celebrated by holding Space Fest 2019.

The event held on Saturday commemorated the Apollo 11 Moon landing. It included guest speakers and presentations about the historic day.

JFK Library Foundation Executive Director Steven Rothstein spoke with WBZ NewsRadio’s Kevin Coleman about how the museum honored the families of local woman who helped work on the Apollo Guidance Computer.

“So when President Kennedy had a vision, that vision was backed up by 400,000 people working across the country in government, and NASA, and universities. And these women were a critical part of it. Without them, the men would not have landed on the moon,” Rothstein said.
