BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Bruins coach Bruce Cassidy outlined Boston's plan for Game 6 in St. Louis last night: get the lead, extend the lead, play winning hockey to close the game.

The B's achieved those benchmarks on the way to a 5-1 win to force Game 7 at the Garden Wednesday and, unsurprisingly, Tuukka Rask was a big part it.

Charlie McAvoy said he was simply "The best player on the ice tonight."

He was. 28 saves.

Karson Kuhlman was impressed, too.

"He's been unbelievable all playoffs for us, so it was no surprise he was kickin' again tonight," Kuhlman said. "We need it from the back end out, everybody bring their A game."

David Pastrnak, what do you say to Tuukka after another dominant performance?

"I don't talk to him, I don't wanna get anything going between his ears, you know, he just keeps doing what he's doing," he said.

Rask is 5-0 these playoffs in elimination or closeout games across the four rounds, and he's allowed four total goals. On the road, he's been even better.

But, it all comes down to one game now and, in Rask's Game 7 career, he's 3-2, with a 3-17 goals-against average and .877 save percentage.
