BOSTON (WBZ NewsRadio) — Patriots wide receiver Antonio Brown, who faces multiple allegations of sexual assault, has lost his shoe deal with Nike.

"Antonio Brown is not a Nike athlete," the company said in a statement to WBZ NewsRadio.

Nike did not elaborate on why they revoked the partnership.

Brown mentioned the deal last year in a video on YouTube in which he buys five pairs of shoes. Earlier in 2019, Nike released the Nike Tech Trainer Antonio Brown, a $100 shoe featuring Brown's number with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

According to The Boston Globe, a recent lawsuit filed against Brown by his former trainer, Britney Taylor, said Brown had "trouble balancing the responsibilities he had arising out of his many endorsement deals."

"He showed up late to events he was required to attend for those sponsors or otherwise failed to hold up his contractual obligations," the lawsuit read.

Taylor claims Brown assaulted her on three different occasions. Brown denies the allegations, and claims the two had a consensual relationship.

Brown is still playing with the Patriots, and the NFL is investigating Taylor's claims.
