Shia LaBeouf Gets Huge Chest Tattoo For 'Cholo' Gangster Movie Role

Shia LaBeouf just tattooed his entire chest for his upcoming movie role.

The Disney Channel star is slated to portray a “Cholo” gangster in his new film, The Tax Collector, and even “got his whole chest tattooed” to get into character for his onscreen thug persona, Creeper. An image of LaBeouf’s massive body ink work published by Daily Mail shows the 34-year-old with the name "Creeper” permanently inked across his abdomen.

The image also reveals two Mickey Mouse gloves inked underneath the "Creeper" tatt as well as a larger illustration of his mother, Shayna Saide, holding a clown. (See the picture here.)

This isn’t the first time LaBeouf has gotten inked to more authentically portray his roles onscreen. He previously got 12 small tattoos buzzed onto his body for his part in Andrea Arnold’s drama, American Honey. Even more extreme, the actor once cut his face and pulled a tooth for his part alongside Brad Pitt in 2014’s WWII movie, Fury.

Call his craft crazy, but LaBeouf’s devotion to his role has earned him much respect. “He's one of the best actors I've worked with, and he's the most committed to body and soul,” director David Ayer said back in January. “On Tax Collector, he got his whole chest tattooed. So he kind of goes all in, and I've never known anyone that committed.”

Despite LaBeouf remarkable commitment to his Tax Collector part, the actor has also been met with “brownfacing” allegations for portraying what appeared to be a Latinx character in the film. However, Ayer explained that while LaBeouf’s character is influenced by Latinx culture, he's playing the part of a white man.

“Really important answer – Shia is playing a whiteboy who grew up in the hood,” Ayer responded on Twitter. “This is a Jewish dude playing a white character. Also the only white dude in the movie.”
