The Greatest R&B Artists Battle!

The 2019 R&B Madness tournament has some classic battles in store. One of the battles pits generation vs generation: Aretha Franklin versus Janet Jackson. I've heard people say that the match-up isn't even close! I would argue that it depends on who you ask! Janet Jackson may have been the biggest artist in the 90's, while Aretha was one of the biggest artists 30 years beforeJanet. When it comes to the amount of #1 singles in each singer's career, Aretha leads Janet by only four songs. R&B Madness allows for friendly commentary, healthy debate, and the outpouring of music experts to spring forth! Click here to download your free bracket to play along. Check out the "How To Play" Facebook video below! R&B Madness battles occur every Thursday and Friday at 8:40am on The Morning Wake Up in March. The final battle occurs the first week of April!

The 1814 in "Rhythm Nation" actually comes from the catalog number it was assigned at Virgin records.

"Rock Steady" is on Aretha's "Young, Gifted, and Black" album released in 1972!
