A Piece of My Childhood Just Died

I couldn't believe the news that James Ingram had died from brain cancer at the age of 66.

The first person I thought about was my wife. She has to be one of his biggest fans.

On the morning show, I kinda went rogue and searched for the James Ingram song that I wanted to play in his honor.

"How Do you Keep The Music Playing" feat Patti Austin is the song I chose.

My wife is a gifted singer (from a family of singers) and her favorite part of the song is at the very end when Patti Austin states "The Music..(James Ingram joins in)..Never Ends...."

When I hear that song, I think about how blessed I am to have an amazing wife who uses music as the center of her joy. When she starts singing from the James Ingram/Patti Austin catalog..it's going to be a great day.

So, it was an easy choice to select that song. It wasn't that easy to tell Regina that one of her favorite singers had just died.

.."The Music Never Ends"
