About The Woman Of The Week: Felicia was born in Brighton and raised in Dorchester, MA. She got placed in foster care at the age of 12, and struggled as a teenager with not having her biological mother around. She found herself constantly running away, getting into trouble all the time, and even got caught up with drinking at a young age to the point where she got kicked out of school in the 8th grade! She was deemed a "Juvenile Delinquent" and got placed in group homes for her teenage years.
Despite all of the negative, Felicia turned her life around and went on to complete her education. She received her G.E.D. at the age of 19, and got into the towing industry where she worked her way up to management. She remained in management for almost 20 years doing 12 hour shifts, five to six days a week and then she realized that she needed a career change! Staying true to herself, she wanted to pay it forward and give back to at-risk youth in the community.
Felicia has volunteered with Walk for Hunger and even helped set up support groups for Catholic Charities for those less fortunate. Although she has no children of her own, she does have stepchildren and plays an active role in their lives. Felicia is also very active in helping her friends with their children and their behavioral problems. She can relate to at-risk youth having been there, and makes it a point to go out of her way to help a child in crisis. She believes she found her calling and is currently hoping to take on a career change in behavioral services to work with the at-risk adolescent population.
Felicia has been happily married for 3 years and in her free time likes enjoying the outdoors and taking walks. She is very family oriented and and lives a simple life. She tries to take it back to basics by staying off electronics and enjoying the simple things in life and tries to enstill this in children she encounters.
She is described by her friends as a caregiver, always making sure everyone is straight. Aside from loving her family and friends she enjoys camping, and listening to The New 97.7!
